1. It was another week of snow and frigid temperatures, but we survived. And today the temps got up to the mid 50s. The snow is melting, which we needed, and it’s feeling like (dare I say it?) spring. Generally I like snow, but this year has brought a lot too quickly, and I’m not really in a place to be able to deal well with anything extra. The snow was extra. The bitter cold temperatures were extra. My car battery dying when the temps fell below 30 was extra. But I am hoping we are on the other side of all of that, and maybe by next winter I can deal with whatever weather extra come up.

2. Food Network Tournament of Champions is back. Okay, so it’s only the qualifiers so far. But the randomizer is back and is still a huge competitor in this. But it starts up for real next Sunday, and I’m ready.

3. MLS soccer is back. It’s a “rebuilding” year for Sporting KC, so expectations are low. But on Wednesday’s game against Miami (a Concacaf game), we held them to only one point. And last night we did the same with Austin FC for our first official game of the season. I still miss some of the ones we lost, but we’ll see how these new faces do. And I’m pretty much always a fan of watching soccer, so let’s do this. Of course, now that I’ve said that, I can’t watch next Saturday because it’s Elimination Chamber. (Or I can watch it on my phone, but not on the big tv.) But first, another Concacaf game against Miami this Tuesday, and since it’s down there the temperature will probably be above freezing, so that will be a nice change for the players. (Last week’s game, I think the temperature was about 5 when they started, with a minus-zero wind chill. Needless to say, I stayed home with this guy.)
