1. This is the time of year when nothing is taken for granted, and by that I mean breathing. Breathing is more challenging, between the pollen and the storms and the trees and the flowers and the grass getting cut again and all the other things in the air that hate me. So I am very grateful for every moment that I get to continue to breathe. Also, I'm very happy that Claritin D went over the counter.
2. Sometimes when the living is hectic and it's all I can do to get up in the morning and put one foot in front of the other all day, I am grateful for some of the simplest of foods. French bread with a really good butter. Eggs. Cheese. Peanut butter. Strawberry jelly. Fruit. Cold water. Tonight I am thankful for simple things done well.
3. I am grateful for people who write books. They pass on their life experiences and wisdom and passion and topic-specific information. I get to learn so much just by sitting at home and reading all the books. Since I'm not physically able to go into the world to all the places and to learn all the things I want to, it's an amazing shortcut for me to dive in and enjoy adventures and breathe in knowledge without having to leave my sofa. Authors, thank you!
