1. I’m a day late with this, as yesterday my mother-in-law announced she was going to the hospital. She was feeling dizzy and coughing. Turned out to be the flu, which sucks, but also is fixable with meds and rest. They kept her overnight, and again tonight, but she will be okay. With all the colds and viruses and flu going around these days, it seems like everyone has been sick this month. I don’t know why the flu season started so early this year, but hopefully this is the worst of it and we all end up immune for a good, healthy winter.

2. New Food Network Show The Line. It’s Bobby Flay and three other chefs taking on another restaurant’s chefs, feeding a dining room of diners like a somewhat real restaurant. I am fascinated by this show, and I am looking forward to the rest of the season.

3. And then there’s this guy. With the cooler temperatures, it’s time to get out soft fleecy blankets and snug on the sofa with the best cat (when he leaves room for me). Fall is the best!
