1. Apple Cider Doughnuts! Entenmann’s has come out with their version, which is not as good as the fresh ones from my local cider mill (I mean, how could they be?), but they were at my local grocery store and will help tide me over until I can find some time to make the drive out to my cider mill.

2. I watched the end of the US Open Tennis Tournament, and saw German player Zverev the moment he won and then, a minute later, saw the moment he realized he won. He was getting ready to serve, when he saw his brother waving his arms at him courtside. Zverev looked up and the scoreboard and saw that he won. It was the best moment of the tournament. And while it would have been nice to have an American win the US Open, I was thrilled to see Zverev win. He’s earned it.

3. We finally, finally got a break from those triple-digit heat indexes. We’re down to the 80s now, and I am hoping for some 7s and even 6s soon. I love fall, and I am ready for the crunchy leaves, grocery stores full of gourds, and flannel shirt temperatures!
