1. It is Girl Scout Cookie time! I always order from family when they ask. I usually donate them, but this year there was a new flavor I wanted to try. So I ordered some to donate and 2 boxes for us to eat. The box of Thin Mints went into the freezer, to be forgotten until July, when frozen Thin Mints are the best thing ever. These new ones, Exploremores, are pretty good. They’re based on Rocky Road ice cream, and I am liking them a lot. And it was lovely that they were hand delivered by the Girl Scout herself, my cousin Lydia, with a hand-written thank you note.
2. The Olympics are over. The neurodivergent part of my brain is happy that we can go back to our usual schedule. But they were pretty spectacular. I remember back when I was in fourth grade keeping a notebook all about the Olympics. Of course, back then, we only got to see a few of the games on one television channel and had to check the newspaper for all the scores. I loved that project so much. It was one of my favorite times of elementary school. So this Olympics brought back good memories. And it made new good memories.
3. Saturday night we had friends over for dinner, and it was lovely. We had pasta, with fresh sourdough bread and brownies. Everything was delicious, and it was great to reconnect. I had been thinking about giving people up for Lent, but then we had a lovely time with friends. And then when I was coming home from my mom’s today, a woman cut me off in traffic to go across two lanes and take a highway exit, so I am back to wanting to giving up people again. But dinner was fun, and I was grateful we all made the time to meet up.
