1. Last time I went to the dentist, I saw that they were putting in a new restaurant two doors down. And when I saw the sign, I knew it was a place we would frequent. Valentino’s Pizza is the pizza my boyfriend grew up on. They originated in Lincoln, NE, and made it to my corner of Bellevue when I was around middle school. Every time we’ve gone back to Nebraska since, we come back to K.C. with boxes of pizza. Now it’s finally here, and I bet we’re eating it almost every week for the rest of the year.

2. Tonight is the official start of Tournament of Champions. This will be fun!

3. Last week they were talking about bad weather for today. There was going to be rain, and then freezing rain, and then snow. I will speak for myself and many others who have to wake up and go to work early in the morning: no, thanks. But just in case, we ran all out errands yesterday, bought the groceries, made deliveries to both moms, and barricaded ourselves at home all day today. The weather wasn’t all that bad—we did get some rain, and even a little freezing rain, but no snow, and it turned back to rain, which washed away much of the frozen rain pellets left on the ground. Tomorrow morning may still be a little slick on the roads, but there’s no inches of snow to deal with. I am happy about that. And the rest of the week is supposed to be pretty warm, so there may be more rain, but no freezing.
