1. Food Network has a new show, a Julia Child competition, where home cooks compete in Child-based challenges. It’s not the slightest bit cutthroat, but gentle and supportive. The cooks have to work hard against a short clock (meaning they don’t have much time for the challenges), but the judges and fellow contestants don’t get too crazy. I am loving it, both the show itself and its gentle nature. It’s perfect for weekend afternoon DVR clearing (although there’s only 2 episodes so far), and I can’t want to see more!
2. I am writing this earlier than usual this week, because we have tickets to Alton Brown live tonight. We had actually forgotten about it until they started running commercials for it on the radio news we listen to in the mornings as I wake up and Brad keeps sleeping. So I am grateful for those commercials, since we' got distracted since getting those tickets. And I am grateful for a night out, like the good old days. Although I am old enough to worry about staying out so late on a Sunday night.
3. Again, I have to say this guy. We are just coming up on the 3rd anniversary of his adopting us from the shelter, and we have not regretted it one single moment. DonDon is the light of our lives, He is full of love and has an obsession with birds and loves to meow at us and snuggle and nap, and every day that we have known him has been a gift.
