1. We are picky eaters. So when we find a restaurant that can be a favorite for both my boyfriend and myself, it’s a big win. Many times, we’ll try a new place once, and we’ll be glad that we tried it, but we don’t go back. A few weeks ago, we got delivery from a new pizza place, Toppers. And it’s fantastic! We love it. And since we order pizza almost every week, finding a good one is a big win.
2. Yesterday was Independent Bookstore Day, and I did some damage. I bought books and a game from 3 different indie shops, and I can’t wait for them to start showing up at my door. I did all my shopping online, as our local indie is still closed to in-store shopping, and I found a couple of stores our of state that had signed books from a couple of my current favorite authors. Love, love, love indie bookstores!
3. It’s springtime, and the world is bursting with colors. There are so many shades of green, and the flowers are popping up. On my way to work, there is a house set back from the road, but at the end of the driveway, right under the mailbox, there is a handful of tulips in full bloom. I love tulips, and seeing them there every morning just makes me smile. (Even though I do suspect that nature is trying to kill me by pollen.)
I am not the only one who loves nature. Yesterday I remembered to buy more bird seed, so I filled up the bird feeder and spilled a generous amount on the ground as well. And nature found my offerings. Birds and squirrels came to snack, and DonDon loved the show. He sat in front of the door until I finally made him move, but he was so happy. The squirrels came all the way to the porch to say hi (or maybe mock him because he couldn’t get through the door), but either way he was a happy kitty, and that made me happy too. It’s a DonDon world, and we’re just living in it.
