1. There’s one more week of Hell’s Kitchen, and I think maybe tonight is the final of Food Network’s Tournament of Champions, but Top Chef is just getting started. Is it Restaurant Week yet? Can it be Restaurant Week every week?
2. We were big fans of the show Brockmire. It was so wrong, so very wrong, but so funny. So now Hank Azaria has started a podcast as Brockmire, and it will be so wrong and so very funny. I can’t wait to start listening!
3. MLS is back! Last night we began the new season. My Sporting guys were in Jersey, playing the New York Red Bulls for their first game. Our injury roster was long, from our top 3 goalkeepers to defenders/midfielders Graham Zusi and Elie to forwards big-money guy Alan Pulido and captain Johnny Russell, who were actually available as subs since they were coming back from injury. But the young guys and new guys we had out there stepped up and brought home that first win. That was phenomenal, but it was so moving just to see them working together on the field, passing, setting up shots, and not just running around uncertain and kicking blindly (last year wasn’t our best, for certain). But they are starting strong, and I can’t wait to watch them get better as they go through their season. And get healthy! And stay healthy! We have a strong team, and as long as we can keep them healthy and uninjured, it should be an amazing season.
