1. I rewatched one of my favorite movies this morning, Major League II. I don’t know why I love it so much, but I do. I originally saw it on HBO and whatever it was I was going through at the time, it spoke to me. I watched it over and over, the way you used to watch movies over and over on HBO for a month or so, until they changed to a new selection of movies. It still just cracks me up. It’s not a good movie. But I can’t help but love the characters. Go Indians (fictionally only, of course, since they don’t actually exist as the Indians anymore). Best bad baseball movie ever!

2. Pepperidge Farm cake, the kind you get from the freezer. It’s a perfect square, and I love the chocolate fudge. The cake is silky and chocolatey, and it reminds me of my childhood. There is just something comforting knowing that that cake is sitting in the refrigerator waiting for me.

3. Family. I’ve been making plans with my mother about Thanksgiving, we have my boyfriend’s mother living with us, and tonight we’re going out to eat with his sister and her family. There is a lot of family around these days, as it should be. We are just a week and a half out from Thanksgiving (which doesn’t seem possible!), so it’s time to think about family and make plans for holidays. Now I just have to figure out how to make really good gravy. It’s something I struggle with every year.
