1. PBS Masterpiece. I recorded Press a while back and spent several hours this weekend watching it. It’s excellent. The writing is very strong, the casting is absolute perfection, and the story really made me think. It’s about 2 competing London newspapers and the people who work there. There is the Herald, which believes in journalistic integrity, and there is the Post, which wants sales. It’s been out for a couple of years now, so it it sounds like something you might be interested in, give in a goog. It’s probably streaming somewhere, or you could pick up a copy of it on DVD. It’s worth the effort.
2. CVS. Got shot yesterday (flu shot), and after we made appointments online, it was super easy. Hardly felt a thing, and no real side effects except some apathy and a strong yearning for doughnuts. Although, since I felt those before the shot, they may not be related at all. So all good then.
3. A good fried chicken dinner with all the fixin’s. We here in Kansas City have a chicken restaurant named Stroud’s, and it is filled with deliciousness. They serve family style, and they’re willing to use delivery apps, so we get a box full of fried chicken (dark meat only), mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, salads (or chicken soup, if you’d prefer), and cinnamon buns. So delicious! And as someone who loves leftovers, I get to eat chicken for days! When I was a kid and we would come to KC to visit my grandmother and aunts and uncles and cousins, we would go to Stroud’s, so this food has been a part of my life for decades, and it always brings up good feelings and memories.
