1. Work has been on my mind lately. We have been called back to the office, starting tomorrow. Our state stay-at-home order is still in effect for another week, but as we’re considered an essential business, they can have us do that. I’m so grateful that they allowed us to work from home this last month. I would have been so anxious to work there throughout these last 30 days. I’m a little nervous about going back, but we know more now about how the virus is spread, and I have tools that I will be taking with me to help me stay healthy and keep those around me healthy. I will desperately miss getting to spend the day with my boyfriend and our cat though. That will be difficult for me next week.
2. Being in the house for a month, we missed the end of winter. We were told (Farmer’s Almanac) that it would be a wet winter, and it was a little. But it wasn’t too cold, it wasn’t too icy. It was bearable, which was a nice change. And now I think we’ve skipped on to early summer (spring around here usually only lasts a week or two anyway). Today was a lovely day, warm with beautiful blue skies.
3. I was worried about working from home for a month. My boyfriend and I have been together for years, but we’ve never been locked up in the same space, both working from home, together all day every day for weeks. But it was amazing. We got along well throughout. We sometimes sat in the same room, each listening to different podcasts in our headphones (or sometimes he was on a conference call), and sometimes he’d play a podcast we both listen to, sometimes we’d watch Judge Jerry, but we always had a peaceful, easy, soothing time. He helped me when my anxiety got out of hand, and I hope I helped him too. I can’t imagine being able to thrive at a time of a global pandemic with anyone else. He is the best person I know, and I am so lucky to have him in my life. All my love and gratitude to him, in these challenging times and in the better days that we so deserve after all of this social distancing.
