he's so fancy
Steve is a special horse. He can reach the tall apples from the trees. He can run. And he has friends. But when he sees a peacock in all its glory, he wonders if he too is exceptional. He very much wants to be exceptional.
When he finds a golf horn that had been left in the forest, he trips over it. But then Steve gets an idea, and he puts the horn on. And just like that, he’s exceptional. He shows all his friends just how exceptional he is with the golden horn on his head.
But when the horn slides off his head, he is faced with being ordinary again. But he looks around to all his friends, who all now have things tied to their heads, and realizes he’s now extraordinary for having nothing on his head.
Steve, A Pretty Exceptional Horse is a fun and whimsical look at what makes us all extraordinary. We are all special, and Steve can help kids find ways in which each of them is also exceptional. With colorful drawings and a very sweet story, Steve and his friends remind all of us, children of all ages, that we matter, and that we are special in our own way. I love Steve, and I think lots of readers will embrace him and everything that makes him special.
