So I wanted to be far more bookish last week. But it was not a good week. This week will be rough, but I will be trying to do better. It’s not just the reading. I’ve been struggling in various places in my life. But I am making progress in other areas, so I’m thinking I can do better bookwise this week.

I’m still reading Julie Chen is Dead, and it’s still really good. Hopefully I can wrap it up this week, because I want to get to that ending, which I think will be epic.

I’m also reading the new Marlow murder club mystery, Murder on the Marlow Belle. I love the PBS adaptation of this series, and it’s fun that the new season is playing now, as book number 4 got released here in the states. If you’re a fan of the books, I highly recommend the series. If you’re a fan of the series, I highly recommend the books.

This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of David Lebovitz’s Ready for Dessert, and he’s revised all his recipes for modern times. I am so honored to have been given a copy of this book from Ten Speed Press, and I will be talking about the last week of September. If you’re not familiar with his name, he is an American-born chef and baker. He worked at Chez Panisse for over ten years and started a food blog before it was a thing. He moved to Paris over 20 years ago, so his writings contain a wealth of tips for deliciousness. I can’t wait to dive into this cookbook and think about all those yummy desserts.
