Aaaahhhh, a much better week. Very little drama, good food with good people, and getting lots of things done. Like . . .
1. Did my taxes. It feels good to get that done. I'm getting a refund, and I already know which credit card will be getting that boost. That feels good.
2. Last weekend for the Superbowl party, I made homemade pretzels. It was fun, but I felt pressured and rushed (all my own doing). And they turned out really well. (If you want to try it, go to King Arthur Flour's website and search for pretzel bites. Big hit at the party!) But yesterday, I decided to make brownies, and I didn't rush at all. I took my time and went slowly and savored the process as well as the end result. And they're fantastic. (Duff Goldman's Duff Bakes, The Brownie. Right up there with Alton Brown's Cocoa Brownies, recipe on foodnetwork.com or his 2.0 recipe is on his personal website).
3. I have been blessed in so many ways. There are good, caring people in my life. I have good health, health insurance, a good job, enough money to pay my bills, a very loving cat, love and happiness and peace and joy. I have fantastic hobbies, a great boss, good friends. I have laughter and tears (the good kind) and food and books. I have been greatly blessed, and I am grateful.
I wish the same for you.
