recently finished: This weekend I read Steve Martin and Harry Bliss’s new Number One Is Walking, about Martin’s life in the movies, illustrated by Bliss. There are many fun and interesting anecdotes about Martin’s life in Hollywood, including stories about Robin Williams, Mike Nichols, and Martin Short. As we just finished watching Only Murders in the Building (it’s so good!! Is season 3 out yet?), it was timely. But it would also be a great holiday gift for fans of Martin and Bliss (and Penny, who steals this book away from them all! Penny is Bliss’s dog, and features heavily in the illustrations and some in the stories. I love Steve Martin, but the star of this one is clearly Penny.)

I also read a cookbook on Comfort Baking by a recipe developer and food blogger, so that review should be forthcoming too.

currently reading: I am reading Allie Pleiter’s It Came Upon a Midnight Shear, the latest in her Riverbank Knitting Mystery series. This one has vicuna, an animal with rare and luxurious fur that can only be sheared once every three years. Her ex-husband shows up, and I’m not too far in yet, but I’m guessing her ex will get exed. Also, I read what the book is about. But I love these characters, and Allie Pleiter’s writing is smooth as fine yarn, so I will be enjoying this one later tonight and tomorrow. I’ve also been reading The Christmas Wish by Lindsey Kelk. I love her rom coms, and this is a Christmas version of Groundhog Day, and it’s so much fun!

up next: Out this Tuesday is Flight Risk, the follow up to Cherie Priest’s Grave Reservations, which I adored. I can’t wait to dive into this one later this week!

all i want for christmas is you . . . dead
