moose holiday

Lana Montgomery is not well liked in Moose Springs, Alaska. She’s visited with her family since she was a kid, and it’s the one place in the world that she feels safe. As a board member of the Montgomery Group. she has traveled the world extensively and helped her family manage their properties. But she always returns to Moose Springs.

Moose Springs is a small town with one main industry: tourism. The locals aren’t particularly happy about that, as the strangers don’t always respect their speed laws or the potential devastating affects of getting too close to one of the local moose, but they do help local business owners stay open. Rick Harding understands that. As the owner of the local pool hall, he typically doesn’t welcome tourists, and because of that he is on the verge of closing.

Lana has an idea to bring more business to the local establishments she loves, but it would mean more tourists. Her idea to build luxury condos has not been welcomed so far by those who live in Moose Springs, but the Montgomery Group has already bought up much of the town, so the locals feel like their hands are tied.

But Lana doesn’t want to be enemies with the locals. She wants them to like her. If she were being honest, she especially wants Rick to like her. But it doesn’t matter. With her travel schedule, she rarely has time for dating, much less for a relationship. Flirting, though? She may find a little time for that.

Rick, meanwhile, lives the life of a bachelor. His marriage fell apart when his ex-wife’s sister was killed in a car accident. And while her niece still lives with Rick in Moose Springs, she couldn’t stay in the small town and work at their pool hall. Rick was devastated, but he couldn’t make her stay somewhere she was so miserable. But while he certainly has eyes on that gorgeous Lana Montgomery, he knows that a woman like her would never go for a small-town guy like him.

Lana, meanwhile, has gone all out to try to get the locals to like her. She throws a giant Christmas party. She even promises t catch the Santa Moose, the moose that shows up every holiday season and destroys the decorations that everyone puts up. No one has been able to catch the Santa Moose so far, not even Easton, the town’s best tracker. But when she finds out her cousin has his own ideas for the town, it’s going to take more than a Santa Moose to keep Moose Springs together.

And when Lana’s feelings for Rick, and his feelings for her, meet in the middle and start to heat up, Lana will have to decide just what it is she wants for her life.

Mistletoe and Mr. Right is the charming holiday rom com we all need this year! Packed with the most adorable town and all its creature comforts (and by that I mean a surly cat, a hedgehog in a Christmas sweater, a blind border collie with his own pajamas, and a kitten), this fun novel rings in the holidays with fun, festivity, family, fighting, flirting, and far more stuffed squirrels than you can imagine.

Continuing on the story author Sarah Morgenthaler built in Tourist Attraction, Mistletoe and Mr. Right is a companion story filled with delightful characters, fun plot twists, a sexy Santa, and two lonely people under mistletoe. You don’t have to read them both in order, but once you read one you’ll want to read the other, because spending time in Moose Springs is just that special.

I loved Tourist Attraction, and I loved revisiting Moose Springs in Mistletoe and Mr. Right. These are characters I want to hang out with, and I can’t wait to find out what happens in my favorite small town in Alaska next. And as for the Santa Moose? I had a guess about it. I was wrong, and I was so happy to find out who the true culprit was at last!

But I’m going to pass on that B&B, thanks.

Egalleys for Mistletoe and Mr. Right were provided by Sourcebooks Casablanca through NetGalley, with many thanks.
