My boyfriend is such a cat guy! He found Jesse before he found me, and the two of them formed a relationship that nothing on this earth can break. I am fortunate that they have let me join their family. So when my boyfriend and I decided to move to a bigger place, I knew that it was important that Jesse, our beautiful ginger cat, felt at home too.
Enter Jackson Galaxy.
Jackson, the affable host of Animal Planet's My Cat from Hell, has written a couple of books. His latest one is called Catification. It's all about how to make your cat at home. in ways that works for everyone in the family. He wrote this with a designer (Kate Benjamin), who also shows up on the show from time to time, and it includes lots of amazing ideas and tips on how to make your home more cat friendly. It has lots of pictures and some stories from his television show, making it a quick and easy read. However, it is focused more on multi-cat households, so not all the ideas worked for us. But I have to say that Jesse is a very happy cat in his new home, and more catifications are in the works for him.
This is not Galaxy's first book. His first, a memoir titled Cat Daddy, and it tells the story of how he became the cat-human language translator that he is known as. It's a beautiful, honest, heart-wrenching read, and I recommend it to anyone who likes memoirs, cats, humans, or books. Jackson Galaxy has had an amazing journey so far, and we are all the better for his having shared it with us.
Watch the show. Read the books. Support cats everywhere. As he signed my book when we saw him on the Cat Daddy tour, all the mojo!
