cat nail file box

I was really impressed with this Cat Nail File Enrichment Box. It’s well made, and it came together quickly and easily. I was excited to show it off to my cat, especially since he’s been needing some help with his nails. He has a scratching post that he likes, and on rare occasions when the playfulness overtakes him, there are my legs. But I want to discourage that, so I was hoping this box would help.

When I first got it together, he was curious and came over to check it out. He liked the moving around the balls and chasing them around. I tried putting a couple of treats in, and he went after those. And then, sadly, he walked away and hasn’t played with it since.

That is such a shame, because this box is such a clever idea. Using what feels like sandpaper to file a cat’s nails while they’re playing is so smart. I wanted him to like it so much, and he doesn’t. Maybe because he knew I wanted him to like it? Anyway, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the product. It’s well made and so smart. It’s just not for my cat.
