This kitty litter mat makes life so much easier. It catches the random kitty little as the cat leaves the box, and it opens at one end, so all that loose litter can be poured easily. My cat doesn’t always kick a lot of little out of his box, but every once in a while, he kicks some of the litter out. Using this mat has made it so much easier to clean up the floor around the box, and I’m really happy with it.
When I first unboxed it, I was a little concerned with the texture. The top layer has bigger holes than I expected, but that would make it easier to capture the litter. It also means the litter can come back out of that top layer, but if you’re careful and your cat isn’t too messy, then it’s easy to pour the litter out. But the texture of the top layer had me a little worried. I was worried that my cat wouldn’t want to walk on it, but he quickly proved me wrong. He walked right over it without hesitating.
I use it for my cat’s secondary box, not his favorite one, so it doesn’t get as much use. I would guess that a litter box that gets a lot of traffic or is used by more than one cat might mean their owners have a different experience than I do. But so far I’ve been very happy with it.
