1. We got a new bookstore not too far from me. I visited and found a couple of books to read. It’s a themed bookstore, a little on the dark side, and they only carry horror, thrillers, and dark romance. I love a good thriller, but I only dabble in horror (and it needs a humorous bent to it), and when it comes to romance, I’m all for rom coms. I’m a little concerned about how long they can last with such a limited collection, but I wish them all the best.

2. It is my boyfriend’s birthday today, and we went out for a fantastic brunch at Rye in Leawood and finally got to visit their new bakery, Cornflower Bake Shop. I got a little cake that was divine, and we have a couple of giant cinnamon rolls waiting for us. We know those are amazing, as we have gotten them at Rye before. For lunch, he got the burger and an Old Fashioned, and I got the Fried Chicken Salad, which had some butternut squash and dried cranberries in it. It was so delicious. And they’re known for their fried chicken, so that was obviously delicious. It was a good day.

3. As I mentioned, today is my boyfriend’s birthday, and I am just grateful that he is in my life. It’s been well over ten years now, by far my longest relationship and my best. He is kind and generous and incredibly annoying, and me makes my life better every day just by being here. I love you, and I hope you had a wonderful birthday, and I hope you have many, many, many more.
