1. We used to grab dinner from Boston Market once every week or two to get turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and corn for dinner. They closed all the local Boston Markets years ago, and every once in awhile, I can’t help but want that turkey and gravy dinner. So today, we did it. We got a turkey breast and roasted it, made mashed potatoes, and bought premade gravy from the store (my gravy technique is not good, and I wanted this one to be right). And it was delicious! And it will be again, for another dinner and probably or 2 lunches. Perfect!
2. Just one more weekend for the Premier League season and Bundesliga, both. But Man City has already clinched the cup for the year, and Nottingham Forest has scrapped its way above the relegation line, so they’ll be back next year. I know a lot of fan, especially American fans, were cheering for Leeds, especially when they were being led by an American manager. But I preferred the story of Nottingham Forest coming back to Premier League after so many years. I’m already excited for next season.
3. We are big fans of Lidia Bastianich’s pasta, and our local grocery store stopped carrying it on their shelves. So we now go with the next best thing, ordering several boxes at a time from Eataly. They pack the box with paper, which makes a perfect nest for our goofball cat. I’m so glad he’s found himself a fort where he can hang out and nap when the rest of the world is too much. I wish I had one too, honestly.
