1. Today we celebrated my mother’s 80th birthday with a small lunch, just her, her sister, her sister-in-law, and me. Well, and Nate, the overly excitable and adorable dachshund who came with my mother’s sister-in-law. These are my two favorite aunts, and it was so nice to see them again. I haven’t gotten to see much of them these last couple of years, between Covid outbreaks and other drama and work deadlines and general busyness. So today it was especially sweet to see them.
2. Playing! For a while, we were mostly playing ribbons. Ribbons is fun, but lately we’ve been moving past just noodles and playing with balls and little stuffed mice and just about anything else we can find. Playing is good for the cat, and it’s good for me to stop staring at screens and interact with the real world, particularly that adorable part of it. More balls! More mouses! More naps! Let’s all be cats!
3. As per the usual, this guy. Last night, he decided to jump into his toy box, curl up, and take a nap. Because why not? Kitties need their naps! And then later he jumped up into my lap and took another nap during the Sporting game. It was awesome! Love you, DonDon!
