1. Well, it got cold. It was in the 70s one day and the 30s the next. But I was ready for for the colder weather, wanting to wear my flannel shirts and eat soups. And there’s no blizzards or ice storms, so that’s good. The sky is a lovely blue, the leaves are falling, and it feels like November. All is good.
2. I spent the afternoon the way I like to spend cold Sunday afternoons, with a pot of something simmering on the stove. I made a big pot of chicken and noodles, and it was delicious. I have lots of leftovers, some of which I froze for colder days when I need a good lunch to fight off the colds and flus and viruses that threaten. With some fresh French bread (bought, not baked; I only wish I had that kind of spare time!) and tasty butter, it was a perfect Sunday night dinner.
3. It was a rough week. We had a family member in the hospital, and while the patient is doing better, there was bureaucracy to deal with to get her to the next step of healing, and that did not go smoothly. But it all worked out in the end, with everyone where they were supposed to be to get better. Hopefully this week, we can just rest in that and all get a little better from the stress and frustration of 2022. But in case there is not enough rest and healing, there is homemade chicken and noodles to help.
