1. D’Bronx. It’s a local pizza place/New York deli, and they have fantastic food. They make a pizza that is big and flat and delicious. They make sandwiches packed with meats and flavors (personally I love the turkey sandwiches—the cold 376th packed with cucumbers and spouts for the warmer months and the roasted turkey for the colder months; both are scrumptious!). But they make a brownie that is completely addictive. It’s big (it could be cut into 4 small pieces), cakey, chocolatey, and sprinkled with powdered sugar. It’s my favorite brownie ever. That makes me very happy.
2. One tv show ending (just the season). But I have been having so much fun watching Battlebots. This has been an amazing season, all the way to the end. Watching the destruction, the fires, the parts go flying—it’s such a lesson in life. Each team approaches the fight differently. They have a mix of offensive weapons and defensive measures. Some teams choose a heavy weapon, some add extra layers to protect what’s most important, still others depend on the skill of the driver. As humans, we all have some defenses and some weapons, and we’re all just driving around as best we can. But just like in Battlebots, it’s not always the heaviest weapon who wins in the fight. So it’s fun to watch as the bots you think will win don’t, and the ones you think don’t have much of a chance make a strong run for the final. Last year’s winner gets knocked out of the running early, and the underdog goes the distance. You just never know until the end, and I love that. So much fun!
3. And another tv show just warming up (just the season). Food Network’s Tournament of Champions. Technically, it’s been running for 2 weeks already, as they left one spot open on the West Coast and one on the East Coast, and they’ve been having wild card playoffs for those spots. So we’ve gotten a taste of the competition, but it really starts this week. I filled out my bracket on Twitter (below), and now I can see if I can pick winners in this tournament any better than I can in Premier League.
