1. The freaking Superbowl! The Chiefs actually won! I don’t want to say that I didn’t think that they would, because that’s not true. I just knew it would be a tough fight. Honestly, I was disappointed for a long time, as they just weren’t playing like themselves. They were letting the 49ers defense get to them. But there was a moment where Patrick Mahomes decided that he was done with that, and he elevated his game, and the rest of the team followed his lead, and BOOM! They won the Superbowl! Just like that. And for days, the city celebrated. It was so amazing to see how much this has affected the city, and I know that it’s just the beginning. This will bring in tourists and income, and all the football fans are really happy. I’m so happy for my city! Oh, and the dips were pretty good too.
2. We were out earlier than usual yesterday morning, so we took a trip to one of the best places in the city for when you’re out on a Kansas City morning: Lamar’s doughnuts. I am a huge doughnut friend, and no matter how many I try here in Kansas City, Lamar’s is still tops. (So sorry to my favorite Christopher Elbow and his Fairway Creamery! Love yours too, but this is Lamar’s!) Mmmmm doughnuts.
3. We were out yesterday to take Don to the vet, just a regular check up. And he’s doing really well. He’s gained a few pounds as someone is a little heavy-handed with the treats (okay, it’s me, and I know I need to pull that back), but otherwise he is a healthy, happy, amazing, adorable cat, and we are so lucky that he chose us! I know I talk about him a lot, but just look at that face! It’s all about the DonDon!
