1. Last week we got a lot of snow, and it was very pretty. And now it’s mostly gone away, and that’s good too. While I love a good snowstorm, I also like it when the weather warms back up enough so it all melts away and drivers are less scary on the roads again. We’re already dealing with holiday traffic right now. We don’t need icy roads too!

2. As the year draws to a close, I’m grateful for so many things this year. It wasn’t easy. My mother started the year with cancer, and after all of her treatment and surgery, she is now cancer-free. We lost our beloved cat Jesse, which was heart-breaking. But we also met and fell in love with Don, who is an angel in orange fur. We’re all pretty healthy, we have a good home and plenty of food (although, sometimes there is not enough cake), we have good jobs (one of us has a great job, and I’m jealous, but i do have my book blog, which I love), and life is genuinely good. We are fortunate, and I am so grateful for everything we have.

3. And as always, this guy! This will be our first Christmas with DonDon, and while I know he won’t be too happy on Christmas day with a bunch of extra people hanging around, I will be grateful for the extra time off that I get to spend with him and my boyfriend and my family. Cat time is the best time of all!
