just finished: Room to Breathe. It’s a ya rom com from Kasie West, and it’s a good story about losing yourself, finding yourself locked in a bathroom with your former best friend who you had at one time been crushing on, and then finding yourself again. I really enjoyed this book.
currently reading: Picking Daisies on Sundays, on audio book. This is another book about friends who become lovers. It’s a slow burn clean romance about a woman studying fashion and the boy she fell for in high school. Now he’s back in her life, and they pretend to be dating for his family. I’m about halfway through right now, and I am looking forward to finding out where this story goes.
I’m also still reading Meet the Newmans. I’m just reading it on my lunch hours, so I’m not moving through it very quickly. But I am still reading it. It’s a good one.
up next: I just found out that Alexandra Potter has a new one coming out this week, So, I Met This Guy. Potter is the woman who wrote Confessions of a Forty-Something (originally that title had another word at the end, that being Fuckup; I see that they dropped that from the title). Anyway, I adored that book. I was hoping they would follow it up with an American printing of More Confessions, but they have chosen not to. But there is this new book, so I will definitely be diving in to that one this week. And probably other things. The burnout is getting better but I’m still not 100%. I’m not sure if that’s even really a thing. Anyway, I am especially grateful for audio books this year, because that and text-to-speech is about the only way I’m getting through books these days.
