read like a kid

I am a sucker for a good  kid's book. I know that YA had a day not too long ago, and there are still a lot of adults who read from the young adult shelves (not that there's anything wrong with that), but my jam is middle grade fiction. I loved that time in my life, both as a kid and as a reader, and those books have stuck with me. The books that I have reread more than any others are middle grade books (thank you to Elaine Konigsburg and the amazing files of Mrs. Frankweiler).

I'm clearly not the only one who feels this way. Bookstr posted this article last week about the benefits of reading children's book as an adult. And they even feature another of my all-time favorites in the article, The Phantom Tollbooth
