There are a few podcasts I listen to regularly, and one I never miss is Criminal. Recently they did an episode on Marilyn Stasio, the New York Times' reviewer of crime fiction. You can listen to it here, or look for the episode called "The Gatekeeper" on your favorite podcast app. At the end of the episode, the podcasters asked listeners to let them know their favorite crime books and series, and they compiled that list for us.
I highly recommend listening to this episode. It's only about 25 minutes, and Marilyn Stasio is a feisty New Yorker with encyclopedic knowledge of crime fiction. She has no time for your crap, and she's not bothered in letting you know that. I want to be her when I grow up.
