1. As a lifelong procrastinator, I like it when time fixes things, all on its own. Last weekend we had a giant snowstorm. And there is still a lot of snow out there. But thanks to warmer temperatures and sunny days, there is far less snow out there now than there was. This feels like one of those problems that fixes itself. And I need those in my life.

2. I have been listening to Bridget Joness’ Diary (again). And while some of it is getting pretty dated, there are other parts that are just as relevant today as when the book first came out. The idea of the singleton, of not having to be a part of a relationship to be whole, is just as powerful these days. Bridget’s obsession with her diet is like how people obsess over the diet plans of influencers. And Bridget is just a spectacular character, smart and funny and strong and insecure, just as human as any one of us. And at the end of the day, she just wants to be loved for who she is. I re-read this book (and usually the next one in the series) most years. I wasn’t going to this year, but I needed a comfort read, so I pulled out my Audible copy and started listening all over again. Never gets old!

3. New year, new calendars. I have my new Pearls Before Swine page-a-day at work. I ordered my new Sarah’s Scribbles 2025 planner, and it’s somewhere on the way and (I think) slowed by our blizzard, but hopefully showing up next week. And new genuine custom DonDon calendar on the wall here and at work. VistaPrint helps me out every year to put these together with adorable photos of our cat, so family and friends can enjoy the adorableness all year long. Looking over at that catalog never fails to make me smile. Bring on 2025.
