just finished: Something in the Walls. A teenaged girl is being haunted by a witch. She says the witch watches her from between the bricks in the fireplace. A journalist and a child psychologist, just out of school herself, go to investigate. But they have secrets too. This is a good, old-fashioned creepy horror story with all the fixin’s!

currently reading: I got this one from Zeitgeist, and I’m fascinated by all the natural remedies that I can make myself for everyday issues, like sinusitis or gastric distress. Herbal Medicine for Modern Life will definitely be a review this week.

Out this week is the new Secret Staircase mystery book from Gigi Pandian, and I started the last one and let it get away from me. But I got the audio book from Audible, and I’m listening now, and it’s fantastic. And look for The Library Game out this week (I’ll be talking about that one too).

And I started reading I’ll Love You Forever by Giaae Kwon. It’s about her fandom of K-Pop, but she frames it as the biggest moments of her life told through her K-Pop crushes. It’s about how she grew up Korean in Los Angeles, and how she was embraced her culture but also was bullied by those of her culture. This one is going to be excellent. And you don’t have to love K-Pop to read or enjoy this book. It’s so beautifully written.

up next: out next week, March 25, is the new John Scalzi, When the Moon Hits Your Eye. It’s about the moon turning to cheese. I’ve been reading it slowly over several weeks, just to savor it during some difficult times, and it’s so much fun! Mark your calendar for this one. Pre-order it in hardcover, pre-order as an ebook, pre-order the audio—how ever you like to read, get the book. This is one to get for certain!
