currently reading: Miscommunicamp!, a YA summer camp book that is bringing me those summer camp book vibes from my childhood, like There’s a Bat in Bunk Five and Hail, Hail Camp Timberwood. So much fun!

I also started reading the new Lizzy Dent, out this week. Just One Taste is about Olive Stone, a restaurant critic who was left her father’s Italian restaurant, the one that broke up his marriage to her mother. At one point she’d planned on following in her father’s footsteps and taking over the restaurant. But then her parents got divorced, and she resented the restaurant for taking her father from them. Now she has to figure out what to do with the restaurant, the building that houses it, and the head chef she has to partner with to finish her father’s cookbook. In Italy. Where just the two of them will be traveling and working together. I am hoping for lots of delicious descriptions of gelato.

I’m also listening to Jamie Day’s newest, One Big Happy Family. I’m not too far in yet, but wow, I can already tell this one will pack a punch. It’s about a family of sisters who inherit a small hotel in Maine and the young woman who works as a maid there. Charley is smart but family obligations keep her tethered to the small town and her job at the hotel. But each of these sisters have secrets they will kill to keep, literally. I can’t wait to hear what happens with this one!

up next: Vivien Chien’s newest Noodle Shop Mystery, Peking Duck and Cover. Watch for it in your favorite bookstore or library next week!
