currently reading: things about France. Sort of. The French Ingredient is about a woman who works for a bank but moves to Paris and decides to open a cooking school. So far this is a fun story, and it’s one to watch out for. Then there is The Paris Novel by Ruth Reichl, which comes out Tuesday. A woman buys a dress in Paris, and it changes her life. I can’t wait to talk more about this one.

This is a fun week. New books include Dame Judi Dench about Shakespeare and from Amy Tan about birdwatching. And I’ve started listening to the new Sally Hepworth, which seems like it will be lots of fun.

And these books are coming out just in time, since next Saturday, April 27, is Independent Bookstore Day! So get your TBR list together and head to your favorite indie bookstore (or to their website), and fill up your cart with books and other good things.

up next: well, I did just buy the new Alain Ducasse cookbook, and I am very much looking forward to digging in and seeing what the French master chef has to say these days. Good Taste: A Life of Food and Passion. Right now, I just need some extra time to curl up with all the books! And with this guy.
