Last week was crazy! Two hospital visits, but everyone is okay now. Exhausted, but okay. And home, so that is good. Things should be slowing down a little at work soon, so I can focus more on what’s important (reading, obviously), and maybe April will be a little bit quieter. Just a little is all I ask.
currently reading: The Woman on the Ledge. This thriller has been getting a lot of comparisons to The Woman on the Train, and I can see why. Our main character, Tate, befriended a woman who was about to jump off the building where she works. Tate managed to talk her down. But the next day, she calls Tate and says that she lost an earring the night before and needs help getting back into the building. Tate is reluctant to let her in, but she needs friends, so she agrees. The next thing she knows, there is a dead woman on the walk below, and Tate is charged with murder. But what is really going on? I am sucked into this one, waiting to find out more information and see if what I think is happening is happening. But there are other possibilities. My first thought is that her married lover is behind it all, but is it that simple? And is Tate telling the truth, or did she create an elaborate story to seem innocent while she is not? So many questions!
I’m also reading the new book coming Tuesday from wrestler Becky Lynch. It’s the story of her from a girl, through to her present career in the WWE. I have been a fan of The Man for years. I loved it so much for her when she became Becky Two-Belts, and I keep glued to my television whenever her entrance music plays. This book is a lot of fun, and every wrestling fan should grab a copy and get an extra one for your daughter, niece, or any young woman you see struggling to find her way. Becky stumbled into wrestling, and it helped her find the path to her best life. I think reading her story can help encourage girls to try new things and not let anything stand in their way to the top.
up next: new Anthony Horowitz coming in April. This has Horowitz teaming up once again with detective Hawthorne, and I love these so much! If you are a fan of these too, watch for Close to Death, out mid-April.
