currently reading: Sophie Cousens has a new book, Is She Really Going Out with Him?, out Tuesday. It’s about a middle-aged woman, a writer, who is about to lose her job unless she comes up with a more interesting column. Dating. Recently divorced, she has to put herself out there and start dating again, and writing about it. This one should be lots of fun.

I’ve also been heading back to my childhood and reading Harriet the Spy. It’s been many years since I visited with Harriet, so I’d forgotten how odd she was. Written today, she may be labeled neurodivergent. Which would explain why I liked this book so much and felt so much like her as a kid.

I’m also still reading Rivals. It’s still perfectly 80s, perfectly trashy, and all kinds of fun.

up next: with Thanksgiving next week (how is that even possible?), I’ve been thinking a lot about cookbooks, so expect some of them. And there are always the Christmas books I keep threatening to read. I need to start them soon, or it will be spring already!
