just finished: Cool for the Summer on audio. The book is by Dahlia Adler, who just released Going Bicoastal. In Cool for the Summer, teenaged Lara is forced to spend the summer away from her friends and ends up falling for a girl named Jasmine. When she gets back to her senior year, the boy she’s had a crush on forever asks her out. It then Jasmine shows up at Lara’s school, and she has to decide which relationship she wants to be in. I’ve started reading Going Bicoastal too, so I’ll be writing them both up soon.

currently reading: I’m still working on The Woman Inside, which is lovely but dark. And I started Wanderlust, which comes out Tuesday. it’s a fun summer read about a woman who wins a huge trip from a radio contest, but there’s a catch. Dylan has to invite a random contact from her phone to go with her. When she shows up to the radio station, they take her phone to grab the contacts. The random one they picked was a guy she had met at a club once, right before her life imploded. He’s liked her and wanted yo go out, but she never called him. Until now. And he says yes. So weeks later Dylan is in a plane yo Australia with a near-stranger, trying to write up the trip in a way that attracts enough new followers to snag her a magazine column. I’m only about a quarter of the way in so far, but it’s a blast! Summer reading indeed!
