currently reading: I finally found some time to sit myself down and read a book-book (as opposed to an ebook, where I pick up my phone and read whenever I find a few minutes), so I’m getting a chance to read It’s the End of the World and I’m in My Bathing Suit, which is adorable. A twelve-year-old’s plan for avoiding laundry takes a sharp left turn when his mother finds out he hasn’t done laundry in weeks and makes him stay home and wash his clothes instead of going to the yearly beach party he’d been waiting for. Eddie’s voice is hilarious and spirited, so this one is lots of fun to read. I’m also still listening to Notes on Your Sudden Disappearance, which is still just lovely. For this week, I’m also working on Two Nights in Lisbon by Christ Pavone, which it seems like everyone is raving about. And A Sprinkle in Time, the follow-up to Pint of No Return, Dana Mentick’s first Ice Cream Shop Mystery. She solves murders and creates amazing milkshakes, and I am here for both of those things.

up next: next weekend is a three-day weekend, and I am looking forward to lots of sofa time with my book stacks and ebook app. I know I will be reading The Secret Life of Albert Entwistle, which is also getting lots of early buzz and the first book in a new cozy series, Renovated to Death. And there’s this one, which came in the mail last last week that looks like lots of fun. Thanks to Clarion Books for the Freddie vs. the Family Curse bookmail. This one looks like lots of fun!
