Merry Christmas and Happy Bookish New Year!

So my plan for doing a bunch of cookbooks last week fell apart pretty quickly. So I still owe you guys some more cookbook reviews. But things should be calming down again at work, so I’m also looking forward to reading and reviewing more books in general again. So let’s do this!

just finished: I finally found some quiet time to finish To Get To the Other Side, the rom com about the women chasing the chicken across the street. I loved it! It’s so sweet and charming, and Chick-Chick is featured throughout the story, so what’s not to like?

currently reading: I’m reading a fun cozy that comes out Tuesday, Vinyl Resting Place, about a woman who runs a record and coffee shop in a small town outside of Austin, Texas, with her two older sisters. They have a big party the night before they open, but someone parties too hard and the sisters find a dead body in their supply closet. I can’t wait to get in deeper and find out what’s happening at this record store! I also started A Man Called Ove. I keep seeing those commercials for the upcoming movie with Tom Hanks as an absolute grump (for the movie, they changed his name to Otto), and I wanted finally to dive in and read this one. I can listen some at work next week, so I think it will be lots of fun.

up next: I’m still not organized enough to know much of anything beyond next week, but I do know that there are lots of good books heading our way next year. I’ve had publicists coming at me from all directions with lots of good books (and there may have been a few that I went begging for as well), so January will be a good month to curl up on the sofa with some tea and lots of good books. All I need is a warm blanket to cuddle under and a sleepy kitten nearby, and I am ready to read all the things! 2023 is booked!
