just finished: nothing new. But there’s only one more crazy week at work and then things calm back down, so I will have more time to book.

currently reading: I just started the latest in Ellie Alexander’s Bakeshop Mysteries, Mocha, She Wrote. In this, Jules’s barista Andy is competing in the West Coast Barista Cup, and the judge is killer. Oh no wait, he isn’t killer. He’s dead. Of course, Jules steps in to help figure out who the killer is, in between baking and running the Torte empire. I joke, but if I could live in this town, I would be at Torte almost every day for those tasty pastries! Although I might be a little concerned about the murder rate. I’ve also been reading Suburban Dicks, about a journalist and a profiler who got relegated to the suburbs, and when a gas station attendant is shot, they go to work to figure it out because the boredom of the suburbs is killing them slowly. But when they realize that the police are lying about what happened, they go after the cover-up with all the fire they have. This book is so much more than a typical mystery novel, and it’s so much fun! Loving it!

up next: These next couple of weeks there are so many books coming out! Everyone needing a beach read or pool read or sofa read or hammock read or bathtub read will be able to find something that looks wonderful. But I will say up top of that list for me is Yoga Pant Nation, the latest in Laurie Gelman’s Class Mom series, which I adore! If you haven’t read any yet, this is your chance to pick up Class Mom or You’ve Been Volunteered and get ready to start laughing!

Also, after a long stretch with no bookmail (but lots of egalleys, so don’t feel sorry for me), HarperCollins stepped up and sent me this one. It looks fun and culty! A mother who lost her child gets involved with a group of grieving mothers, but it turns out the group is not just about coming together, it’s also about revenge. Watch for it in November! (Can’t wait? I did see a Goodreads giveaway for it earlier today, so head there and sign up! Good luck!)
