just finished: nothing. And I apologize if you were expecting a blog on Wednesday night and didn’t get one. Squarespace was down, so I couldn’t post anything. I waited a while and then gave up and took a bath, because self-care is right up there with books, right? But this is the week that Andrew McCarthy’s Brat finally hits the shelves, so I get to talk about that one this week. I’m excited!

currently reading: I’m still reading Siren, the latest from Katherine St. John. It’s so good! An island as a closed movie set, with so many secrets and so much drama. Love it! I’m also reading The Plot, which is also getting lots of buzz this spring. A washed-up writer steals a plot from another writer. It’s a huge bestseller, but he lives in panic at getting found out. I’m only about a third of the way in, so things are just starting to heat up, but I can’t wait to see what happens next! Also, I’m reading a book called Because He’s Jeff Goldblum. Because: he’s Jeff Goldblum, a true iconoclast, original artist, musician, and goofball. He wouldn’t be interviewed for the book, so author Travis M. Andrews just talked to everyone else. I’m not too far in yet, but it’s such a hoot. Of course it is! He’s Jeff Goldblum!

up next: it’s time for more big summer beach reads! Lauren Weisberger’s Where the Grass Is Green and the Girls are Pretty, Christina Lauren’s The Soulmate Equation, Lizzy Dent’s The Summer Job, Mary Dixie Carter’s The Photographer, and I snagged an early copy of the audio book for The Housewives, Brian Moylan’s deep dive (can you really it call it that? LOL!) into Bravo’s Housewives franchises, from the beginning. So much fun!

I got my final shipment of books for Indie Bookstore Day. This last one was a signed copy of Jenny Lawson’s You Are Here and Broken (which I loved!). I can’t wait to enjoy You Are Here. It looks like lots of fun. And DonDon thinks they are very comfortable!
