just finished: the audio book for Jessica Darling #4, Fourth Comings. There were so many surprises, and I can’t help but like Jess more with each iteration. I can’t wait for #5, but it will be bittersweet, because it’s the last in this series and I will have to let her go.

currently reading: I am finally reading Hank Phillippi Ryan’s latest, from last September, Her Perfect Life. Lily Atwood is a television journalist with a big secret—when she was just 7, her older sister went missing. She has tried to keep that out of the public, but now someone knows, and he’s telling her that her sister Cassie is in trouble. I’m about halfway through, and I can’t wait to see how this one ends! I’ve also started to listening to book CDs in my car. I have several that I picked up from Half Price Books, and so this week, I started The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie, as is the Hugh Laurie who played House for so many years and a dim-witted Bertie Wooster so many years ago, among so many other roles. I read it years ago and loved it, and listening to it is lots of fun.

up next: Absence of Mallets, the next in Kate Carlisle’s Fixer-Upper Mystery Series. Shannon Hammer and her crew restore houses, and her boyfriend writes action novels, and these books are just plain fun. It comes out December 7, so you can’t read this one for Thanksgiving weekend, but you can get caught up on one of the 8 books in the series. If you’re a mystery fan and an HGTV nerd, these are for you. And yes, these are the basis of the Fixer-Upper movies on the Hallmark Channel starring Jewel. Also, as an early Christmas present, my bf got me this one (let’s be honest here, it’s for him too. We both love Italian food!), so I am looking forward to spending some time in Scott Conant’s home kitchen and drool over the delicious meals and desserts!
