just finished: Ruth Ware’s newest One by One. Wow, people, this one is fantastic! I got really frustrated at work this week when I read this on my lunch break, and then they expected me to just set it aside and go back to work. Like nothing was happening. Like there weren’t a bunch of people stranded in the French Alps with a murderer. What’s up with that? But seriously, this one comes out Tuesday, and when you get ready to read it, carve out a chunk of time. It it painful to set this one aside and go back to the real world. Painful!
currently reading: I’m reading John Cleese’s short book on Creativity, which is a great gift for anyone who needs some help thinking outside the box. I’ve also started reading Eat a Peach, the memoir from David Chang, the chef/founder of Momofuku, host of the podcast The Dave Chang show, and host of Ugly Delicious and Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner on Netflix. I’m not very far in yet, but I’m hooked! He is far more down-to-earth and complicated than I was expecting. This one also comes out Tuesday, and if you’re a food nerd like me, you’ll want to snag a copy when you can! I received a free copy of Eat a Peach from Clarkson Potter in exchange for a free and unbiased review. up next: P.J. O’Rourke has a new book coming out in a couple of weeks, A Cry from the Far Middle. I’ve been trying to keep my distance from books about politics, but I do like O’Rourke, and I was able to snag an early copy of the audio book, so that is what I’ll be listening to next week along with a host of true crime podcasts. Also, Caroline B. Cooney has a new book out Tuesday, Before She Was Helen, and I’m so looking forward to diving in to that one!
