just finished: nothing. It was a rough week, and I’ve been spending an inordinate amount of time playing Numberzilla on my iPad. So I’ve still been reading. I just haven’t been reading quickly or finishing anything. But I’ll get there!
currently reading: I just started The Killings at Kingfisher Hill, Sophie Hannah’s latest Hercule Poirot mystery, and I’m already hooked! I have to admit that I’ve never read any Agatha Christie. My mother loved them when I was a kid, and she told me I should read them. So of course, I couldn’t. As an adult, I’ve wanted to give them a shot, but I haven’t made the time for it. I’m sure I’ll love them though, and I love Hannah’s version. I want all my Sunday chores to go away so I can lay on the sofa and see what happens. Another author I’ve wanted to read for a while and haven’t is P.J. O’Rourke. I’m familiar with his work, and I’ve read shorter pieces and listened to him on Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me on NPR. I knew he had a new book coming out, but I didn’t think I’d get a chance to read it until I was given an early copy of the audio book. I was a little disappointed that he doesn’t read it himself, but narrator L.J. Ganser does a good job. I was expecting it to be political, but I wasn’t expecting so much ranting about history. I’m pretty fascinated so far. Watch for A Cry from the Far Middle out Tuesday!
up next: This one is out Tuesday too, but I don’t think I’ll be able to finish it this week. I’ll try to say more Monday, but we’ll have to see how the week goes. And many thanks to Harper for the chance to read it!
