just finished: Something To Talk About. Rumors fly in Hollywood about a producer and her assistant. This is a sweet, heart-warming queer romance, and I loved it.
currently reading: I started listening to The Nanny by Gilly Macmillan. There are 3 different narrators, and I am loving this one. After a difficult childhood where her favorite nanny goes missing after a party, Jocilyn grew up and moved away, finally landing in America. But when her husband dies suddenly in a car accident, Jo and her daughter come back to Lake Hall, the family home, when she finds that she has no money and her immigration status is revoked. Although she’s now an adult, she never learned how to get along with her mother, and the relationship between them only gets more complicated when human remains are found on the grounds of Lake Hall, and Jo starts to wonder if something deadly happened to her former nanny. I’m not all that far in yet, but it’s already getting twisty.
up next: The Essential Bread Cookbook, a short bread cookbook based on James Beard’s Beard on Bread. This is one for all those quarantine bakers who need more inspiration to keep baking those beautiful home-made loaves of bread.
