just finished: My Name is Venus Black. I Am, I Am, I Am by Maggie O'Farrell, which I am still trying to get my head around. It's her memoir, written through the lens of 17 different brushes with death that she has dealt with in her lifetime. It is amazing and insightful and harrowing and beautiful. I also just finished the audio book of The Short Drop, a spy thriller from Matthew FitzSimmons, which I ended up liking a lot more than I expected to.
currently reading: Still working on I'll Be Gone in the Dark. I also recently finished Sociable, a very funny novel from Rebecca Harrington. I enjoyed it so much, I looked up what else she'd written, and I discovered that I'd picked up another of her books in an Amazon ebook sale. I'll Have What She's Having: My Adventures in Celebrity Dieting is just what the title says, and it's a hoot. I'm also reading an adorable kid's book about a young magician named Harry Moon.
up next: I'm not sure. I have a lot of thrillers and cozies to catch up on, but I'm struggling with the darker books these days. Maybe I need some more kids books and cookbooks to even the scale a little. Not sure where I'll turn next, but it will be fun to find out.
