recently finished: I am almost done with The Marriage Pact, so I'm counting it. It's a fascinating look at a marriage and the sacrifices we make for those we love. More about that one Tuesday. It's a really good one.

currently reading: The Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen, which is superfun (in a grumpy old man diary way). The publisher calls it The Office set in a retirement home in Amsterdam, but I'm finding it reminiscent of the Adrian Mole diaries that I am immensely fond of. So I am greatly enjoying this book. I recommend it very highly.

up next: Sarah Schmidt has written a book called See What I Have Done, which comes out August 1, and I have been itching to read it since I first heard of it on my favorite book podcast (Adventures with Words). It's a fictional look at the life of Lizzie Borden and her family--how can that be anything but amazing? Also out on August 1 that I get to read soon is Tom Perotta's new novel Mrs. Fletcher (he's the guy who wrote Election) and British talk show host Graham Norton's new novel Holding.
