listen up: is there a doctor in the library?

I still remember reading Dr. Seuss when I was just a kid. He made me feel like the world was so big, it could only be expressed with whimsical rhymes and giant, colorful illustrations of imaginary creatures. He made me feel like anything was possible.

Honestly, he still does.

On Audible, there are audiobook versions of some of his most amazing books available for just a couple of dollars each. They short, like the books, and they lack the well-known illustrations. But I don't care. I buy these for myself and listen when I need a few minutes of fun, inspiration, or innocence. Here are just a few of the titles available:

Jason Alexander reads Green Eggs and Ham. Ted Danson reads The Lorax. Dustin Hoffman reads Horton Hears a Who. David Hyde Pierce reads Fox in Socks. Kelsey Grammer reads The Cat in the Hat. Michael McKeon reads Oh, the Thinks You Can Think. John Cleese reads Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are? And John Lithgow reads my favorite, Oh, the Places You'll Go!

You can get these and teach your kids how to play them over and over, or you can be like me and just enjoy the experience for yourself. You can never go wrong with Dr. Seuss, especially when they're read by some of the most distinctive actors of our time.

Thank you, Audible, for this beautiful reminder of the words that made my childhood so happy and that instilled in me a lifetime love of learning!
