zero, you're my hero

I have heard a lot of Millennials talk about how nobody taught them about dealing with their finances. As a Gen Xer, I know that I wasn't taught much either. But Jordan Tampien is trying to change that. With his book Living at Zero, he not only provides some basic financial information that everyone needs but also offers a new perspective on building wealth for a better life.

This book is packed with all the usual good financial information--repairing your credit score, pulling your credit report to check for mistakes, planning for retirement, creating a workable budget, buying insurance, and dealing with student loan debt. And in addition to that, he provides ideas for Millennials to earn more money through extra work, real estate, and business investments.

But what really makes this book truly unique is his "Living at Zero" lifestyle idea. He makes it his goal to set his account back to zero money every month. He pays all his bills, puts some money into savings, and then takes the rest and sets it aside in an investment account, which builds until it's the right size for the next investment he wants to make. He uses those investments to not only pay off debt but also to travel, to create passive as well as active income, and to build and continue revenue streams that could last well into retirement.

With an emphasis on life balance and building on your passions, Tambien helps even the most financially illiterate find a way to live better. Filled with resources, websites, and apps, Living at Zero makes it easy for anyone to create more streams of income and live a richer life.
