magic and pie

I am a big believer in pie. And a pie that can bind secrets? That is really something special! But is it enough?

Rachel Monroe is a young woman with a secret. She can make wishes come true. And although that sounds like such a wonderful gift, anyone who understands even a little about life knows that a gift can also be a curse. And that is how she feels--cursed. While she was being so careful with other people's wishes--she tried so hard to make sure their wishes wouldn't have unintended consequences--she got careless with her own and ended up destroying her family.

Now she's 26, and after years of therapy, she is trying to start her life over again. And after a near-disastrous wish fulfillment, she decides it might be easier to start over somewhere new. So she hits the road and finds herself Nowhere. Nowhere, North Carolina, to be exact, a town known for finding what has been lost. In Nowhere, she meets Catch, the woman who bakes pies for the town and who takes Rachel in and gives her the new start she so desperately needs.

And then there's the handsome next-door neighbor, Ashe. who may have a secret or two of his own. Their attraction is instant, but their pasts make things more complicated and make Rachel skittish to get involved.

The Secret Ingredient of Wishes is a warm-hearted story of new beginnings, secrets, magic, and trying to find hope and healing. Oh, and pie. Don't forget the pie.
